Algerian Patience Solitaire

A long, contemplative two-deck patience with a deep tableau.

Algerian Patience uses two decks dealt into eight columns plus six reserve piles. You build foundations both up from Ace and down from King. Slow-paced, methodical, deeply rewarding.

How to play

  1. Two decks deal into 8 columns of 6 cards plus 6 reserve piles of 1.
  2. Build half the foundations up from Ace, half down from King.
  3. Move single cards only between tableau columns; build down by suit.
  4. Stock cards turn one at a time.

Strategy & tips

  • Patience is literal here - short-term gains often hurt long-term position.
  • Use reserves as buffers, not destinations.
  • Hard / Harder variants strip away forgiving rules; start Relaxed.
