Spider variant

Spiderette Solitaire

Two decks. Eight columns. Build sequences and clear them all.

Spiderette is single-deck Spider - Spider's mechanics, half the cards. Seven columns instead of ten, 52 cards instead of 104. A faster game with the same satisfying "lift off" moment when a King-to-Ace run leaves the board.

How to play Spiderette

Goal - Move all the cards to the Foundation

Decks

  • A standard deck (52 cards)

Redeals

  • No

Foundation

  • Automatically filled when a Tableau pile contains a pile ordered down by rank and by suit from King to Ace

Tableau

  • Built down by rank
  • The top card of each pile is available for move
  • Group of cards in the proper sequence can be moved so long as they share the same suit
  • An empty pile can be filled with any card or correctly ranked pile

Stock

  • Can only be Pressed on if no Tableau piles are empty
  • Press on the Stock to deal one card to each Tableau pile

Strategy & tips

  • With one deck, suited runs lift off twice as often as in standard Spider. Build them aggressively.
  • Empty columns matter even more - there are only seven of them, and you'll need at least one free during stock deals.
  • Empty a column as early as possible - it's your most flexible workspace.
