All one suit. The friendliest entry point to Spider.

Spider 1 Suit is the most accessible Spider variant in the app. All 104 cards are the same suit, so building down by rank is the only constraint - players win around 64% of deals, vs ~9% for the four-suit version.

How to play Spider (1 Suit)

Goal - Move all the cards to the Foundation

Redeals

  • No

Foundation

  • Automatically filled when a Tableau pile contains a pile ordered down by rank and by suit from King to Ace

Tableau

  • Built down by rank
  • The top card of each pile is available for move
  • Group of cards in the proper sequence can be moved so long as they share the same suit
  • An empty pile can be filled with any card or correctly ranked pile

Stock

  • Can only be Pressed on if no Tableau piles are empty
  • Press on the Stock to deal one card to each Tableau pile

What makes Spider (1 Suit) different

  • Played with a single suit - every card is the same colour and family. Best for learning.

Strategy & tips

  • Aim to build long descending runs early - every 13-card run that lifts off frees enormous board space.
  • Don't be afraid to break a run mid-game; with one suit, you can always re-form it.
  • Empty a column as early as possible - it's your most flexible workspace.
