Crazy Quilt (also Indian Carpet, Japanese Rug) deals 64 cards into a tight 8×8 grid where alternating cards face horizontal/vertical. A card is playable only if at least one short edge is exposed.

How to play

  1. Deal 64 cards into an 8×8 grid, alternating horizontal and vertical orientation.
  2. Aces and Kings start the foundations: Aces build up by suit, Kings build down by suit.
  3. A card is playable only if a short edge is free.
  4. Stock cards turn one at a time, with one redeal.

Strategy & tips

  • Open the corners early - a corner unlocks two neighbours.
  • Never burn a redeal until the quilt is genuinely stuck.
  • Remove same-suit pairs to keep both the up- and down-building foundations moving.
