Alaska Solitaire

Klondike's tougher cousin - every card visible, deeper planning.

Alaska is Yukon's wild cousin - same layout, but the tableau builds **either up or down** by suit. The extra direction triples the tactical surface.

How to play Alaska

Decks

  • A standard deck (52 cards)

Redeals

  • No

Foundation

  • Built up by suit from Ace to King
  • The top card of each pile is available for move

Tableau

  • Build up or down by suit
  • The top card of each pile is available for move
  • Complete or partial piles can be moved
  • An empty pile can be filled with a King or a pile starting with a King

Strategy & tips

  • Look at the entire board before your first move - every face-up card is a clue.
  • Buried aces are the priority. Plan three or four moves ahead to reach them.
  • Resist racing cards to the foundation; you may need them later as colour bridges.
