Yukon Solitaire

Klondike's tougher cousin - every card visible, deeper planning.

Yukon resembles Klondike but every tableau card is dealt face-up and there's no stock pile. You can move groups of mismatched cards together - which makes Yukon both more open and far more demanding.

How to play

  1. Deal all 52 cards into 7 columns; the first has 1 card, the last has 11. All except the first card of each column are face-up.
  2. Build the tableau down in alternating colours.
  3. Move any face-up card together with everything stacked on top of it - the moved cards don't have to be in sequence.
  4. Build foundations up by suit, Ace to King.
  5. Empty columns can hold any card or group.

Strategy & tips

  • Look at the entire board before your first move - every face-up card is a clue.
  • Buried aces are the priority. Plan three or four moves ahead to reach them.
  • Resist racing cards to the foundation; you may need them later as colour bridges.
