Aces in the centre. Eight columns charging in. No stock pile.

Beleaguered Castle places the four Aces in a central column and deals all remaining cards into eight columns of six. Build foundations up by suit; tableau down regardless of suit; one card at a time, no stock. A pure-skill game with no luck after the deal.

  • Built up by suit from Ace to King
  • The top card of each pile is available for move

Tableau

  • Built down by rank
  • The top card of each pile is available for move
  • An empty pile can be filled with any card

Strategy & tips

  • Empty a column early - without a stock pile, columns are your only flexibility.
  • Don't release a 2 to its foundation if it locks an unreachable 3 elsewhere.
  • Citadel is the unforgiving cousin: cards go to the foundation as they appear, never returning.
