Baker's Dozen variant

Castles in Spain Solitaire

Thirteen columns. Open information. A pure thinking patience.

Castles in Spain is Baker's Dozen with a relaxed twist: tableau builds down in alternating colour rather than regardless of suit. Slightly easier; still entirely skill-based.

Strategy & tips

  • Work backwards from the foundations - identify which cards block each Ace, then plan the unblocking sequence.
  • Spanish Patience and Castles in Spain shuffle the rules slightly; pick the variant that matches your patience.
  • Don't release every 2 immediately - sometimes a 2 in the tableau is more useful than on the foundation.
